WHERE ARE YOU GOING WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?

Connie is a 15 year old teenage who is interested in boys as well as the other girls. She is generally opposite with her mother and because she is young I guess, her mother mostly reminds Connie’s sister who is 24. Many boys are interested with but only Arnold Friend took her attention so much. We can imagine the story’s time by the music of Bob Dylan. So i think that the time is when ”Rock and Roll” theme emerged like 60s. Arnold is a insistent guy because he went to Connie’s house and he stated that he is interested with her by saying ‘ You are cute’. In the end of the story it is not stated that she is staying or going but I think she is obviously going with Arnold instead of staying at home with her complaining mother.

TINY SMILING DADDY

Mary Gaitskill’s  Tiny Smiling Daddy is a story which is I think so feminine. It is feminine because, the main character is lesbian. Kitty is the girl who showed difference with her behaving and I guess  it is because of her family. Although her father gave much attention in her youth, she got bored with this attention in her teenage period. I think it is a period of her like ” look i don’t like playing game with you dad, i got older…” And because of she got bored in her own house, Kitty wanted to get away from her own father and mother so that she moved to another house with her new girlfriend
